CHICAGO, April 9, 2019 — SMS Assist announced today the hiring of long-time technology executive Kevin McDunn as chief product officer. McDunn will lead all aspects of SMS Assist’s product innovation strategy as the quickly growing company continues to reinvent facilities management services.McDunn, with previous experience at Lenovo, Google, and Motorola, was most recently chief product officer at UI LABS, an accelerator focused on transforming industries through digital technology (UI LABS rebranded as MxD in February). While with UI LABS, McDunn developed a strategic digital manufacturing investment plan that maximized value creation for more than 300 industry, academic, start-up, and government institutions. As the head of software, services, and experiences product management at Motorola Mobility, he oversaw international teams charged with making smartphones more emotionally intelligent.

McDunn is a Chicago native with an International Masters in Management from Lancaster University (U.K.) and a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from the University of Illinois. He holds 21 U.S. patents, with three pending.
